SANCA Horizon’s treatment programme is based on an integrated holistic approach where each individual receives assistance on a physical, emotional, social and spiritual level. Diversity is valued and therefore we strive towards accommodating cultural diversity within our treatment programme. Our Multi-Professional team assists people to grow beyond addiction, and offer life skills training to enable them to regain control of their lives. The professional team consists of a medical doctor, psychologist, psychiatrist, social workers and professional nurses.

All Treatment Programs includes:

TREATMENT FOR TEENAGERS

  • IN PATIENT TREATMENT 

Teenagers are treated separately from adults. This 6 week in-patient treatment programme is specialized for teenagers and involves medical detoxification, group therapy, individual counselling and family therapy.  After-care offered for a period of one year, inclusive of individual- as well as group sessions.

​

Medical aids do cover 21 days of costs.

 

​

  • OUT PATIENT PROGRAMME 

This is a 10 week programme that consists of weekly group therapy sessions for both teenagers and parents. This therapeutic programme focuses on life-skills as well as behaviour change. Urine screening tests are conducted at random throughout the programme.

TREATMENT FOR ADULTS

  • IN PATIENT TREATMENT PROGRAMME

21 days in-patient treatment programme inclusive of medical detoxification, group therapy, individual counselling and family therapy. After-care forms an integral part of successful recovery.  One year after-care in the form of individual counselling and weekly support groups at Horizon Center.

Medical aids do cover costs for in-patient treatment.

  • MEDICAL OUT-PATIENT PROGRAMME

This 9 week out-patient programme is inclusive of medical detoxification, weekly group therapy, individual counselling and weekly family therapy.  This programme is ideal for employees that can’t take time off from work.

  • IN-PATIENT TREATMENT PROGRAMME

This is a 28 days in-patient programme inclusive of medical detoxification, group therapy, individual counselling and family therapy. After-care is offered for a period of one year with weekly groups and individual counselling on successful completion of the programme.

For Schools

  • Awareness training for learners as well as educators. 

  • Project team training for identified educators. 

  • Pupil Support Programs are offered in pre-primary (Early Childhood Development), primary schools and secondary schools. This is a comprehensive program that is facilitated at schools.  This includes interactive puppet shows for grade R to grade 5 and interactive class talks with learners from grade 6 – grade 12. 

  • Parents evenings.

  • Stay Strong Drama Group - Using Performing Arts in Substance Abuse Prevention by focussing on the Understanding of Drug Information (Teen Substance Abuse – Tell Tale Signs/Long and Short Term Effects), Identifying with the Process of Addiction, Steps to ‘Stay Strong’ and not get involved with drugs in the first place, Knowing where to get help (Referrals for Assessment and Treatment), Joining the ‘Stay Strong’ Movement against Substance Abuse in Schools.

 

 

For Corporates / Small Businesses

Substance abuse in the workplace has become a realistic problem.  Substance abuse in the workplace is common, and this causes low productivity, absenteeism, poor performance, criminal activities such as theft and fraud and disputes with managers or supervisors.  Substance abuse also leads to greater health care expenses for injuries, illnesses and absenteeism. Furthermore, safety and other risks for employers can increase workers’ compensation and disability claims. Unfortunately, many individuals with addiction may be in denial about the need for treatment. If you need help or advice on how to deal with a colleague or staff member with a substance abuse problem we will work closely with you to define a suitable way forward.
